Neal Lemlein Bio:
Neal Lemlein’s extraordinary career spans over 100 film marketing campaigns, including Star Wars, Aliens, Hunt for Red October and The Blues Brothers. Since 1989 Neal has been a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Additionally, Neal served as an executive at some of the most powerful media outlets in the world including FOX, CBS and Universal Studios.
While earning a Masters Degree in International Relations from NYU, Neal was accepted to the prestigious Strategic Planning Program at Young & Rubicam, a leader among Madison Avenue advertising agencies.
This led to a new passion for marketing, advertising, strategic planning, and account management. In Los Angeles Neal was recruited to work with CBS to develop new client revenue for the network. His media and marketing work in entertainment circles created a buzz in the media industry, and he was hired by Twentieth Century Fox as Vice President of Marketing and Media Services.
At Fox, Neal was highly successful in market analysis and innovation, which contributed to several film campaign successes. After a successful stint at Fox, Neal was recruited to help turn around the Los Angeles office of one of the largest advertising agencies in the world: D’arcy Masius Benton & Bowles. They challenged Neal to develop a revenue-generating entertainment division without a staff or budget. He embraced the challenge and excelled, generating revenue of $100 million in billing within twelve months and earning D’arcy Masius Benton & Bowles the Agency of the Year award. After one year, Neal had built a team of over 30 marketing professionals.
Neal was invited to join Universal Studios Hollywood as Executive Vice-President of Marketing. There he was responsible for developing and implementing a 40+ million dollar marketing plan, stabilizing a competitively disadvantaged business, and managing 72 employees in six departments (sales, advertising, publicity, promotion, corporate sponsorship, and television development).
Today, Lemlein is the president of Around the Bend Media (www.AroundTheBendMedia.com), a film financing, marketing and production firm with a unique business model for today’s contemporary entertainment landscape.
